Accommodation overview: Newton Reigny is a peaceful village 3 miles from Penrith and with the benefit of easy access to the M6. Ullswater, the Northern Lakes and the Eden Valley are all easily accessible and the village benefits from a pub serving bar meals. These 2 characterful barn conversations (Lilac Studio property number 118169) have an interconnecting door and may be let separately or together for up to 6 people and situated in the village of Newton Reigny the Lilacs was originally a farm and the 2 cottages were the Byre and adjoining barn. More recently it was the home to Simon Bull, a well known Cumbrian artist and Lilac Studio was where he did his painting. The quality of accommodation in each cottage is to a very high standard, including top quality facilities and character beamed ceiling.

Accommodation overview: Yew Tree Farm is a truly stunning property steeped in history and with a wealth of character every guest is sure to appreciate. Modernised by the owner to the very highest specification with every conceivable modern day convenience, luxuriously furnished, and equipped to an excellent standard. The garden is a real feature of the house. Known as the Image Garden, it is laid out in Italianate style and is full of statues and sculptures created by a previous owner in the early 19th Century - the multitalented Thomas Bland, artist, poet, composer and scientist. Every year they held a garden party for up to 1400 people to celebrate the accession of Queen Victoria. The property can accommodate up to 15 people, ideal for large family gatherings or walking parties. Reagill is a delightful village situated in the unspoilt Eden Valley. This area is probably Cumbrias best-kept secret, with picture postcard villages and beautiful rolling countryside. It is ideal for walking and cycling and offers fishing on the Eden. Nearby attractions include Brougham Castle, Acorn Bank house and gardens, Rheged Discovery centre and Wetheriggs Pottery. Reagill is easily accessible from the M6 and just a stones throw from The Lake District, Yorkshire Dales and Scottish Borders. The nearest town is the market town of Appleby, famous for its horsefair or the larger town of Penrith is just a 15-20 minute drive.

Accommodation overview: Situated on the mountainside high above Glenridding with a view to die for, this two-bedroom Lakeland stone cottage has an idyllic location. With fantastic walks from the doorstep, including the assent of Helvellyn, your car need never move all week. Glenridding itself is about 1/2 mile, with shops, cafes and pubs, the nearest pub being only 1/4 a mile. A drive over Kirkstone Pass will take you to Ambleside and Windermere, with Keswick a similar distance in the opposite direction.

Accommodation overview: Ferny Howe is tucked away behind the main thoroughfare of the village, close to the park and is well placed for sampling all that Ambleside has to offer. An exciting array of bars and restaurants, interesting shops and good walking opportunities are available from the door and with private parking for up to 3 cars, there is little need to use your vehicle when holidaying at Ferny Howe.
