Accommodation overview: We are thrilled to offer this splendid property for holiday letting and are sure that its unique setting and spectacular views of the Langdale Valley will delight our holidaymakers at any time of the year. Set in Clappersgate within a small complex, just off the road between Ambleside and Skelwith Bridge, at the entrance to the Langdale Valley, Halfway House is in a super position for exploring, with an abundance of walks and cycle paths from the door. The gardens are particularly tranquil and we are sure that every opportunity will be taken to holiday outdoors. With parts of the house dating back to the early 17th Century, the former toll house proudly displays a wealth of original features, too numerous to mention, including a tremendous stone open fireplace which is of particular interest, and is only used as a feature.

Church View is a lovely detached farmhouse close to the village of Broughton-in-Furness. This cottage sleeps nine people and has four bedrooms, consisting of two king-size doubles, one twin and one twin with pull out stacker bed, along with a family bathroom with corner bath and ground floor shower room with shower. The cottage also has a kitchen, dining room and sitting room with woodburning stove. Outside there is off road parking for four cars and side garden areas with furniture. Church View is ideal for walkers and climbers who wish to explore the Lake District.

Accommodation overview: Loughrigg Holme sits underneath the much loved fell of the same name and was once the home of Wordsworths daughter, Dora and her husband Edward Quillinan, Rich in literary history connections, visitors to Loughrigg Holme have included Charlotte Bronte, the poet Matthew Arnold and Harriet Martineau. This chocolate box property,originally a farmhouse, built in 17th century and extended in the early 19th century is a beautiful example of a traditional Lakeland residence, her 2 1/2 acres of gardens and fellside including croquet lawn blending effortlessly into the slopes of Loughrigg and displaying a wealth of ancient shrubs and flora, cleverly married with more formal patio, lawn areas and natural water fall. A short stroll directly under Loughrigg Fell will bring you to beautiful Rydal Water, one of Lakelands smallest lakes at only ¾ mile long and ¼ mile wide and a favourite of Wordsworth and many other of the romantic poets and still, to this day, magical, peaceful and most inspiring. Ambleside can also be reached on foot within 20 minutes along a country lane, this bustling village offering numerous attractions and activities for all ages with a wide choice of bars, shops and restaurants. Loughrigg Holme is obviously steeped in Lakeland history and exhibits many historic features with dated spice cupboard, flagged floors, exposed beams and original oak stairs and shutters. The house has been beautifully dressed, the owners respecting the obvious age and fascinating literary connections to create a most comfortable and elegant home, a clever mix of 17th and 21st century, the perfect venue for a family gathering and a place where special memories will be created and treasured.

Accommodation overview: Low Graythwaite Hall, just 5 miles from Hawkshead, 4 miles from Newby Bridge and within easy reach of Grizedale Forest and Lake Windermere. Magnificent topiary trees line the huge lawned areas, fringed by colourful displays of rhododendrons and other annuals in deep, accented borders. The setting is idyllic - a herd of deer at dawn or dusk can regularly be seen gently grazing the nearby 2 acres of woodland in which guests are free to explore. Dairy Cottage is also extremely peaceful - but for the sound of running water, the hoot of an owl or the occasional cluck from the chickens who produce the freshest, free range eggs, 1/2 a dozen provided as part of a small welcome pack, courtesy of the owners.
