Accommodation overview: Hidden Cottage, a traditional mid terrace built in the 18th century, is situated close to Coniston Water and village and is within walking distance of two excellent Lakeland Inns. The Farmers Arms, just across the road from the cottage, has been trading since the 16th century and serves excellent bar meals and local ales. Hidden Cottage is beautifully presented and very comfortable and has all the essential ingredients you would expect of a quality holiday cottage; open beams, a log burning stove and a delightful elevated garden which has fine, open views across nearby farmland. The summer house is the perfect spot to sit and take in the evening sunshine or even to enjoy on wetter days. Hidden Cottage is a super property and once found, we hope never forgotten.

Accommodation overview: This beautiful Edwardian property was built in 1911 by a local man who, having retired from milling due to ill health, built Vale View Stores as a local shop where the villagers could buy local produce. The local doctor also had a consulting room in what is now the dining room and in more recent years, Vale View has traded as a bakery and tea room serving visitors en route to nearby Cartmel, Grange Over Sands and the steamers at Lakeside. Situated in the now bypassed hamlet of High Newton, theres a good local pub across the road and a great local butchers within walking distance.

Accommodation overview: Situated in the middle of Threlkeld Village, Kiln how Cottage is fully modernised and refurbished to a high standard. The neighbouring property of Millerdale has the same owner and the 2 cottages may be let seperately or together for up to 11 people. Kiln Howe lies adjacent to Kiln How Beck in the centre of Threlkeld village along a short lane off the main street. Threlkeld sits at the foot of the mighty Blencathra, which can be viewed from outside the cottage, and lies just 4 miles to the east of Keswick and 15 minutes drive from the motorway. The Horse and Farrier public house and restaurant is within 100 yards and the Salutaion Inn, which serves bar meals, is approximately 200 yards. There is a footpath leading from the cottage directly onto Blencathra, which rises steeply above the village, infact there are so many walks locally your car may be parked up for the week.
