Go out of the front door and take 10 paces and your on one of Grizedales major cycling/walking routes, with the benefit of being able to pop into the new cafe at the Visitors Centre which serves fantastic food, beer, wine and soft drinks for the kids. Winnowing Barn, a former bank barn, sits at the edge of the village, in a small quiet courtyard, and is arranged over three floors. The new owners have refurbished the property to a high standard and have ensured that modern fittings (including the addition of wireless broadband) combine well with the traditional features creating a warm, homely feel throughout. Fine views can be enjoyed from the lounge and front bedrooms, and the enclosed rear patio is sure to be put to good use on many occasions.

Hause Hall Farm and The Cruik Barn are located part way up Hallin Fell at the south end of Ullswater in Martindale. They offer spectacular views over the fells and up into the hidden valleys of this secluded area of the LakeDistrict. Famous local author and fell walker A W Wainwrightdescribed the Ullswater lakeside walk which starts just at the baseof Hallin Fell as "the most beautiful and rewarding in Lakeland."

Hause Hall farmstead extends over several traditional lakeland stone buildings including the Grade II listed five bedroom, five bathroomfarmhouse and the adjoining two bedroom, two bathroom Cruik Barnwhich are linked across a traditional paved stone terrace. HauseHall's guest comforts are assured with its cast iron open fireplaces,four oven aga, high speed satellite broadband, oak kitchen and modernluxury bathrooms.

Hause Hall is within a short walk of the HowtownHotel and its Walkers Bar which is open to non residents from April to November and is abouta mile up either the country lane or the footpath from the Michelinstarred Sharrow Bay Hotel.
