Accommodation overview: These cottages, one a Victorian double fronted detached house and the other the converted stables sit in the very heart of Windermere are tucked away behind the main thoroughfare and accessed by a narrow lane opening out into a small courtyard. Nowadays, the horse and carriages have been exchanged for holidaymakers and the ancient buildings have been successfully converted to provide two most interesting cottages with all the desired 21st century facilities that we are so used to but wonderfully married with an Art Nouveau retro theme throughout, perfectly in keeping with the buildings historic past.

The market town of Keswick is a glorious 15 minute walk away via a footpath across open fields. Accommodation overview: Taking its name from the rather steep area of woodland near where it sits, Breasty Haw is a wonderful example of a traditional, detached Lakeland cottage. The setting is idyllic as not only does Breasty Haw enjoy fine views across the valley but the house is situated in the middle of its own acre of mature woodland for guests to explore. With Grizedale Forest and ample walks and cycling routes right from the doorstep, Satterthwaite is an ideal base for an activity based holiday with the kids although the area also has some wonderful, gentle walks for those who prefer a quieter pace and some rest and relaxation.

Renovated and luxuriously refurbished in 2011, it is situated in the village of Threlkeld with views in every direction, from St Johns in the Vale and Cleugh Head to the front and the mighty Blencathra towering behind.
