Accommodation overview: The former school at Troutbeck Bridge was converted some twenty years ago and the Victorian school building, including the chapel and head masters house, have been successfully transformed into four delightful cottages, full of character and charm. Within just minutes drive, the busier resorts of Windermere, Bowness and Ambleside can be explored although we are certain that much time will be spent either gazing out of the lounge window viewing the countryside or spent in the award winning country pub, The Watermill, 50 yards away. Accommodation overview: This fabulous conversion of a stone built barn has a delightful setting on a traditional working smallholding in the beautiful and tranquil surroundings of the Eden Valley with the Penines AONB on the doorstep.
The cottage is full of charm and character and is furnished with a number of antiques and local crafts.
Fully open plan with laminate wooden flooring throughout, the lounge area has a 3 seater settee with a matching arm chair, multi channel Flat screen (Freeview) TV, DVD, CD player & radio, a few board games stashed away in the sideboard, and books galore. We have just introduced the E.V.E. library where guests are invited to swap a paperback book for any of our paperback books (*exceptions clearly marked). This is especially helpful if you start to read one of our many books and don't get to finish reading it by the end of your stay.
The kitchen area has an electric oven with hob, fridge/icebox, microwave and everything you would expect to have in your own luxury cottage and maybe a bit more too.
The main bedroom enjoys beautiful views over the Pennines, and is tastefully furnished with king size bed, wardrobe, dressing table and stool.
The double bedded room overlooks fields and also has a dressing table and full co-ordinated furnishings.
The fully tiled bathroom has full sized bath with shower over, shaver point, WHB & WC.
Full central heating is at your control for whenever you want to use it and there is a combi-boiler for instant hot water.
Heating and electric are all included in the price.
French doors lead outside, to the rear, lovely, private enclosed garden overlooking open fields with a variety of planters, a patio area, garden furniture, and barbecue.
There is ample safe parking outside the front of the cottage with security lighting.

Accommodation overview: This cottage was the original village Blacksmiths smithy until fairly recently. The owners have tastefully converted and extended it, to provide a spacious and cosy 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom cottage, which retains it character and original features. There is a fantastic Jotul log burner which give a wonderful atmosphere when lit, a wealth of beams and the original Smithys work bench and vice.
