The Holkham Estate, beach and the bustling market town of Burnham Market are a short drive. Many popular coastal villages are readily accessible offering seal and wildlife spotting trips, opportunities for windsurfing, kayaking and sailing. A steepish lane leads down to the beach where at low tide there is a wide expanse of flat sand perfect for sandcastles or ball games. The beach is backed by high cliffs and there are paths into Cromer or the neighbouring village of West Runton. Away from the coast is a cluster of traditional brick and flint cottages, and an attractive green and duck pond. The village is well placed for exploring the area but if you wish to remain closer to home there are several small shops, two pubs and a restaurant serving meals
