The charming seaside town of Sheringham is an excellent location for a holiday in beautiful North Norfolk. The award-winning beach is of flint pebbles when the tide is high, giving way to a large expanse of smooth sand as the tide recedes. Cliffs rise on either side of the town, which has a backdrop of wooded hills, including those in the wonderful Sheringham Park. Sheringham is also home to The North Norfolk Steam Railway, Splash Leisure Centre, a golf course and an excellent selection of shops, tea-rooms, pubs and restaurants.

It is situated seven miles south of the gorgeous Georgian town of Holt, which offers excellent individual shops, galleries, restaurants and delicatessens.
The National Trust's Blickling Hall, one of the most imposing and majestic stately homes in Norfolk, is three miles to the south, with Felbrigg Hall, Sheringham Park, Blakeney Point National Nature Reserve and Morston and Stiffkey Marshes all within easy reach. The North Norfolk Coast, most of which is designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, is 10 miles away, with outstanding beaches, wildlife, riding facilities and golf courses.
Itteringham, two miles away, holds the nearest village shop, and also a fine dining pub, the Walpole Arms. The Pigs, three miles away at Edgefield, run by locally renowned Iain Wilson of Byfords in Holt, is a country dining pub with bags of character - particularly note the Pudding Club after Sunday lunch. Accommodation overview: Bakers Cottage is a traditional thatched cottage which is situated in the centre of this delightful Broadland village. Attractively furnished and very comfortable, it is in a great location for a holiday at any time of year. Ludham is a pretty Broadland village between Wroxham and Potter Heigham. The village has a splendid flint church, shops and pubs. There are excellent walks in the area including nearby How Hill. Norwich and Great Yarmouth are both 30 minutes drive away. Boat enthusiasts will enjoy the sight of one of the last remaining wherries as well as the Heritage Sailing Fleet based at Womack Staithe. Bakers Cottage is a charming Grade II listed building dating back to the 1800s. It has been renovated to provide modern facilities, whilst retaining its olde world charm, including driftwood beams that were found on the beach at Great Yarmouth.
