The National Trust's Blickling Hall, one of the most imposing and majestic stately homes in Norfolk, is three miles to the south, with Felbrigg Hall, Sheringham Park, Blakeney Point National Nature Reserve and Morston and Stiffkey Marshes all within easy reach. The North Norfolk Coast, most of which is designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, is 10 miles away, with outstanding beaches, wildlife, riding facilities and golf courses.
Itteringham, two miles away, holds the nearest village shop, and also a fine dining pub, the Walpole Arms. The Pigs, three miles away at Edgefield, run by locally renowned Iain Wilson of Byfords in Holt, is a country dining pub with bags of character - particularly note the Pudding Club after Sunday lunch. Slightly further afield, the Gunton Arms in Thorpe Market, 10 miles away, is the 2013 Michelin Pub of the Year.

Attractively furnished and very comfortable, it is in a great location for a holiday at any time of year. Ludham is a pretty Broadland village between Wroxham and Potter Heigham. The village has a splendid flint church, shops and pubs. There are excellent walks in the area including nearby How Hill. Norwich and Great Yarmouth are both 30 minutes drive away. Boat enthusiasts will enjoy the sight of one of the last remaining wherries as well as the Heritage Sailing Fleet based at Womack Staithe. Bakers Cottage is a charming Grade II listed building dating back to the 1800s. It has been renovated to provide modern facilities, whilst retaining its olde world charm, including driftwood beams that were found on the beach at Great Yarmouth.
