Access from Colan Barton into Little Barton is gained by unlocking doors from both properties on the upstairs landing and downstairs rear hallway. This combination then offers spacious accommodation for up to 15 guests. Gwel an Lagen and Bos Lowen the two contemporary and characterful studio cottages are adjacent to Colan Barton, in their own spacious paddock area. This 350 year old Cornish farmhouse holiday home oozes character and charm. It has been sympathetically restored and features original slate flagstone floors, natural wood doors and oak flooring. The enormous farmhouse family kitchen is fitted with handmade solid wood units around a large racing green AGA cooker, a really special place to gather the family for leisurely meals whilst planning the days ahead. A separate utility room and rear hall has lots of space for storing any amount of boots, coats, and beach equipment or even pushchairs. This area includes a washing machine and tumble dryer. There is access to a large downstairs bathroom, with fitted shower over the bath. This facility is ideal when returning from a day surfing or playing on one of seven award winning local sandy beaches. A steep wooden staircase from the farmhouse kitchen leads up to a large triple bedroom right under the eaves. With sloping ceilings and views over the gardens to the sea at Porth, this makes a great family or teenage bedroom. Three steps up from the kitchen you will find a spacious and comfortable family sitting room. This beautiful room has many original features such as a settle built into the fireplace which houses an enormous Hunters wood-burning stove. The ground floor accommodation is completed by a separate second sitting room ideal for children, with games and books. This room has double French doors straight out to the charming walled front garden. Stairs lead from the central hallway to the first floor where the master double bedroom has an en-suite shower room. There is a further double bedroom and two twin rooms. These bedrooms are served by a large stylish family bathroom with wet shower area. The extent of outdoor space is simply breathtaking, with lawns, paddocks, sheltered walled garden and superb summerhouse located on the paved swimming pool area. This provides an extra kitchen area to make drinks and snacks whilst whiling away hours by the pool. An amazing array of flowers, shrubs, climbing honeysuckle and clematis line the borders and bird feeding stations around the gardens ensure a steady stream of visitors to admire. Throughout the grounds there are many nooks and crannies to enjoy peaceful moments and the enchanting woodland area has a quite magical feel. Accommodation overview: A semi detached cottage set within a small hamlet about 2 miles from the coast at Pentewan which can be reached by car or by cycle path alongside the river.  Set to one side of the Mevagissey road and fronted by a small but very pretty walled and gated garden it is entered via a side path to a service courtyard at one side. 

A door opens directly into a small fitted kitchen with a glazed door leading into an attractive beamed sitting / dining room with comfortable seating and a fireplace with an electric fire at the further end. 

Open tread stairs go directly up to the first floor where there is a bathroom W.C. with hand basin, bath and  shower cubicle and a bedroom with a double bed.  A traditional staircase continues up to the top floor and a delightful bedroom with a 4ft double bed.   There is a useful shed for bike and beach gear storage.  

A small shop about 150 yards away has long opening hours during the season There is a bistro restaurant in the village and a pub a short walk away.  Pentewan village about 2 miles has a pub, restaurant and small shops.  Ideally situated for touring the County, the cottage is approximately midway between the Lost Gardens of Heligan and The Eden Project, with beaches and golf courses within easy reach. 

On one side of the valley between London Apprentice and Pentewan is the beautiful and ancient Kings Wood popular with walkers and cyclists.  St Austell 2 miles has a leisure centre, shops and cinema and its main line railway station and bus terminus can be easily accessed from a bus stop at London Apprentice.  The picturesque harbours of Mevagissey and Charlestown are approximately 4 miles.
