Accommodation overview: A semi detached cottage set within a small hamlet about 2 miles from the coast at Pentewan which can be reached by car or by cycle path alongside the river.  Set to one side of the Mevagissey road and fronted by a small but very pretty walled and gated garden it is entered via a side path to a service courtyard at one side. 

A door opens directly into a small fitted kitchen with a glazed door leading into an attractive beamed sitting / dining room with comfortable seating and a fireplace with an electric fire at the further end. 

Open tread stairs go directly up to the first floor where there is a bathroom W.C. with hand basin, bath and  shower cubicle and a bedroom with a double bed.  A traditional staircase continues up to the top floor and a delightful bedroom with a 4ft double bed.   There is a useful shed for bike and beach gear storage.  

A small shop about 150 yards away has long opening hours during the season There is a bistro restaurant in the village and a pub a short walk away.  Pentewan village about 2 miles has a pub, restaurant and small shops.  Ideally situated for touring the County, the cottage is approximately midway between the Lost Gardens of Heligan and The Eden Project, with beaches and golf courses within easy reach. 

On one side of the valley between London Apprentice and Pentewan is the beautiful and ancient Kings Wood popular with walkers and cyclists.  St Austell 2 miles has a leisure centre, shops and cinema and its main line railway station and bus terminus can be easily accessed from a bus stop at London Apprentice.  The picturesque harbours of Mevagissey and Charlestown are approximately 4 miles.

The Cottage has been renovated to a 5-star standard, beautifully furnished, set within its own private courtyard and adjoining St Corantyn Cottage . The layout of the property has been designed with great thought and style.

Bonython Estate Gardens, which guests are welcome to explore, comprises some 20 acres with a recently renovated walled garden and potager and a hidden valley with three small lakes. The gardens are rated as one of 'The Great Gardens of Cornwall' and given a star in the 'Good Garden Guide'. Bonython Estate is a traditional, mixed agricultural Cornish estate with ancient manor, farm and woodland stretching almost from one side of the Peninsula (the Helford River) to the other (the beach at Poldhu Cove) with both shores just over a mile away.

The Estate is close to the amenities of the small towns and villages nearby.Perfectly placed for exploring the beautiful coves and coastal pathways, the majority now owned by The National Trust, The Lizard offers that special unspoilt mix of Cornish magic with world-renowned beaches such as Kynance Cove and Kennack Sands and numerous fishing villages such as Coverack, Cadgwith and Mullion, famous for Cornish crab and lobsters! Accommodation overview: This attractive comfortable and welcoming stone cottage is in the middle of the fishing village, about 75 yards from the harbour and adjacent to a millstream which runs through a neighbour's garden.

Entered by a stable door directly from the road, there is a beamed, newly fitted kitchen with a slate floor and pine dining area. The sitting room with a window seat set into a bay over the stream, has a stone fireplace with coal effect fire. At the rear of the cottage is a hall / cloaks area and a bathroom W.C. with hand basin, shower over the bath and heated towel rail.

Upstairs are two bedrooms, one with two single beds, the other a double has an en-suite W.C. and basin. Slightly set apart from the cottage, a sunny patio garden at the rear has a bench seat, however pets will require supervision outside. The cottage is not suitable for toddlers. Although narrow cars may be unloaded outside, the village car park is at the top of the hill. The shops, inns and restaurants are all close at hand.

Please note: Bed linen is available at £10 per double & £5 per single to be paid on arrival. Towels are not available. A weekly parking ticket currently costs £28 in the council car park, or £18 in Trewetha Lane car park, a slightly longer walk.
