The beach home of the first Surf Life saving Club in Great Britain is a few minutes level walk away and the beach locality has several fine hotels and restaurants and a large beach café. Bude s main shopping centre is within easy walking distance and only a few minutes by car. The town and its surrounding countryside is very un-commercialised and offers countless coastal and inland walks and of course is part of the South West s Coastal Footpath.
