The cottages are situated on the owner s 200 acre working dairy farm. The sandy beaches and surfing waves at Westward Ho! Woolacombe and Saunton are all within easy reach by car. You can hire bicycles and cycle traffic free on the disused railway track the Tarka Trail and stop for a drink or bite to eat at one of the many watering holes on route. The property is 3 miles from the Atlantic Highway giving access to popular attractions including The Big Sheep The Milky Way and Dartington Crystal. The popular market towns of Bideford and Torrington with their famous pannier markets are also close by offering good pubs shops and restaurants. The villages of Monkleigh Buckland Brewer and Littleham are a short drive away and all offer good village pubs. Farm activities: by arrangement guests are welcome to enjoy and play on the farm after a guided tour by the farmer and even help feed the calves and watch the cows being milked. Accommodation overview: A modern detached property enjoying fabulous uninterrupted and far reaching views of open countryside, just a mile from the sea. A fantastic place for walkers being ten minutes from the South West Coast Path. If you like waking up to far reaching, panoramic views of beautiful open countryside then you'll love Slee's Meadow View. You might also love the fact that this delightful, tastefully decorated modern detached property is just a mile from the sea and the very lovely yet rarely crowded Peppercombe Beach. At high tide this quiet stretch of beach is rocky but low tide will reveal deserted sands and some of the best rock pooling in the area. Little explorers love it! Even in high summer you could be alone here. The walk, through the wooded National Trust owned Peppercombe Valley, is superb and takes about 10-15 minutes. Dogs and their owners will love it - especially as the coast path is just 10 minute's stroll from the property.
Slee's Meadow View is also just a ten minute drive from the surf and sands at Westward Ho!, five minutes from the Big Sheep theme park, five minutes from The Milky Way fun park, ten minutes from the quaint village and harbour at Clovelly and about 30-40 minutes drive along the coast road to the surf and beaches at Bude.
Slee's Meadow View has a large open plan living, dining and kitchen area so it's a very social house to spend time in. A breakfast bar provides informal dining (or a chance to scrutinise the work of the chef whilst enjoying a glass of wine) and a large dining table with six places and a rise and fall lamp can bring a sense of occasion if you need it! On cooler nights the wood burning stove will add an extra cosy feel too. The southerly aspect means that the sun streams in through patio doors on sunny days and the conservatory, with its bookcases and comfy Chesterfield sofa, offers a quiet space to read or take in the views. Both bedrooms are spacious and have patio doors to make the most of the views.
You can step out into the large fenced rear garden from the conservatory - as well as from both bedrooms - to eat, enjoy the views or let the children and pets play (the garden is 'dog-proofed'). The bedrooms are served by a bright family bathroom.
Slee's Meadow View makes a great base for exploring this quiet and beautiful corner of North Devon. Whilst the outlook is rural, the house is close to the coast, RHS Rosemoor, local attractions and some great country pubs. The Coach and Horses at Horns Cross is just across the road too!
