Accommodation overview: A lovely, little barn conversion with a pleasant beamed interior. Quiet position, four miles from the beach. Runham has the benefit of being in a lovely country location and yet is only four miles from the wide sandy beach at Caister. Also close by is the popular resort of Great Yarmouth which, as well as the beach, has two piers, a sports centre, amusements, shops, pubs and a pleasure beach where (if you are feeling brave) you can enjoy a ride on the roller coaster! The neighbouring village of Stokesby, two and a half miles away, has a shop, pub and a restaurant. Owl Barn is located near to the owners' home in a peaceful position and enjoys use of the very attractive gardens. Its peaceful setting makes it an ideal location for a relaxing holiday, and you may enjoy watching the birds, including barn owls, on their visits to the garden. It provides very pleasant, cosy accommodation with an attractive beamed interior. Accommodation overview: FORMER HOME OF SIR FRANCIS DRAKE This 600 year old historic house was formerly the official residence of the former Mayors of Bossiney including Sir Francis Drake and was also the home of the famous playwright and broadcaster J. In association with Trinity House, Rural Retreats is pleased to present Siren at Bull Point Lighthouse.
Siren (with accommodation for five guests) is one of four refurbished former lighthouse keepers' cottages at the lighthouse which lies is just outside of Mortehoe in North Devon.
The perimeter of the site is fully fenced and gated but once outside this area, it is very dangerous for children staying at the holiday cottage. Strict supervision at all times is recommended, as not all guests will remember to keep the gate closed and locked.
This lighthouse does not have a fog signal.
Country access roads to some of the lighthouse sites are narrow with limited passing places and, dependent on the season and site, there is the possibility of overhanging vegetation due to cutting restrictions during bird breeding seasons or other environmental reasons.
Guests should be aware that the lighthouses and equipment need regular and sometimes emergency maintenance. Therefore visits by maintenance staff may occur at any time during the year. However, staff will do their best to ensure guest privacy at all times.
