If you wanted to explore in the evenings nearby Tavistock boasts some excellent restaurants interesting shops and a busy market on most weekdays. The South Hams covers the most southerly tip of Devon. From the wild beauty of Dartmoor to the stunning southern coastline there are miles of beautiful countryside and delightful estuaries and rivers to explore. Enjoy some of the finest beaches in the West Country from sheltered rock pools to long sandy surfing beaches. There are numerous unspoilt villages to explore with little shops tearooms galleries and restaurants. An ideal base for exploring the whole area including The English Riviera popular Dartmouth and the city of Plymouth with its cinemas ice skating theatre Hoe Barbican and National Marine Aquarium. Closer to home are the villages of Start Point and East Prawle which is the most southerly point of Devon and home to a popular pub as well as rare birds butterflies and wildlife.
